Welcome to Preferred Report System©
for Windows on-line
Tutorial.
STEP 1. Selecting Dialog
You have two choices for selecting dialog.
To select lines of dialog using the mouse you
click a check box in the left column.
To select lines of dialog using the keyboard,
type x in the X column.
This is the
only Screen (Window) used to select the report dialog. The next screen takes
you to Proofreading and publishing.
Before going
to Report View running Spell-Check (F7 key) and Saving file with your unique
file name is recommended (Click the Save Icon or CTRL+S). The First time you
run spell-check you need to select the add button to add special terms to your
Custom Dictionary file.
STEP 2. Sorting Records for
Report
Records
selected using the mouse: On the menu bar select Records, then
select Show and then select Marked. On the menu bar select View,
then select Report.
Records
selected using the keyboard: On the menu bar select View, then
select Report.
The Report
Data is sorted and grouped in the Home Check List in the order of selection.
INSPECTION
Report is controlled by checks in the left column Check Boxes or by the letter
X in the X column.
SUMMARY
Report is controlled by the letter X in the M/D column or by rechecking the
Check Boxes.
Auto Summary
is created by the letters XX in the X column.
INVOICE is
Automatically created.
What could be
simpler than clicking or typing an X?
STEP 3. Proofreading and
Publishing
To EDIT the
Report Generator, Select the ESC key, then Select List from the View menu. The
check list is now arranged in the order of the Dialog selected.
Appendix E. Editing Text
The above
example requires you to enter the specific location for the defect. Our
research has proven, when using "Boiler Plate" text in this type of comment,
usually results in a phone call for verification. Be as specific as possible.
The Home
Check List comes pre-loaded with most all of the Standard (Normal) Sections
and Comments with approximately 1700 lines to choose from. Ready to use or
Personalize to your words.
Appendix P. Personalizing
Report
Personalizing
the report is your greatest timesaver in report preparation. To personalize
your report requires changing the master Check list (not available in Trial
Version). Add, remove, set defaults (dialog always selected) and flags.
This
concludes our On-line Tutorial.
We recommend
printing the tutorial to use with trial version.
